The Nyon cable car
Your gateway to the Portes du Soleil, winter and summer.

The Nyon cable car is an iconic lift in Morzine. Here is a summary of useful information about it:
History: the Nyon cable car was built on the initiative of Morzine's residents in 1960 to open up the Nyon mountain to skiers. Over the years, new lifts have linked this area to the Pleney ski area and to the resort of Les Gets.
Location: the studio is close to the bottom station of the Nyon cable car, giving easy access to the Portes du Soleil ski area in just a 2-minute walk.
Pointe de Nyon leisure area: the Nyon plateau has recently been redeveloped into a new leisure area combining hiking and mountain discovery. Getting to the Nyon cable car from Morzine town centre is very easy, by free shuttle bus, by car or even on foot. Once on the plateau, several hikes suitable for everyone reveal unique scenery, including views of the main Chablais peaks and even Lake Geneva.
What's new: a few metres from the top station of the Nyon cable car, a new nature trail has been created to discover the local wildlife. A glass walkway called "Le Pas de l'Aigle" (the Eagle's Step) also opened in 2021, offering a 360° panorama from Mont Blanc to Lake Geneva.
Pointe de Nyon restaurant: for those who want a meal after a hike, the Pointe de Nyon restaurant serves delicious food and also hosts activities and shows about life in the mountain pastures.
Practical information: the Nyon cable car opens with the resort for winter 2026-2027, with the season announced from 19 December 2026 to 4 April 2027 (dates to be confirmed by the operator). Today's status and times are shown on the "Live ski area" page.
So this cable car is much more than just a lift: it's a gateway to a wealth of activities and discoveries in the heart of Morzine's mountains.
